I hope you have all had a fantastic long weekend! I know the weather wasn’t that great but hopefully you found other ways to enjoy it! I had a true labour day/weekend and worked all the way through. Labour Day weekend is the last long weekend of the summer which means the CNE is winding down, the air-show has taken over the Toronto skies (so fun), back to school jitters start, and it’s the unofficial end to the summer holidays (but hopefully not summer weather). I was walking through U of T campus yesterday and St. George was lined with mini vans and SUV’s, tons of volunteers to unload the cargo and a stream of young students moving into their new homes. It brought me right back to my first days at University of Guelph.
Back to school always meant a fresh start; kind of like New Years. You get to wipe the slate clean and start again. You can take the best of what happened the previous year, learn from previous mistakes and move forward. New goals are set and you are faced with new challenges!! Although I’m not going back to school, I have a lot of work ahead of me with Gussied Up and reaching personal goals. All of which will be featured all the blog! Whether you are a teacher going back to mould our impressionable youths, going back to school or starting something new, I wish you all the best!! *singing “It’s the most wonderful time of the year!!”
